I never met Sunny, but when I saw her photo I fell in love with her and knew I wanted to paint her. Sunny was in the first group of factory farm egg hens that was rescued in 2016 by Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary.  Like all hens Sunny was gentle and kind but she also had a huge personality. She was very inquisitive and followed her rescuers everywhere. Sunny’s name was perfect because she was a cheerful “ray of sunshine.” She arrived with a group of 6 hens and she was friends with all of them as well as every hen they adopted thereafter. Sunny got along with everyone. Unfortunately, egg industry hens rarely live long lives but every day Sunny lived at Loving Farm she was happy and loved!
