Bert arrived at a shelter in Idaho as a little pup. He was adopted, but it wasn’t a good fit, so he was returned to the shelter. A German Shepherd rescue in Hamilton, MT, noticed him and thought they had a home for him. However, that also fell through, so they sent him to a foster home with a woman Bert calls his “Fairy-dog-mother,” also known as Sally. Sally knew of a couple who had recently lost their dog and thought Bert would be a perfect fit for them. Samantha and Steve decided to adopt him, and now he is the most spoiled, loved, and sweetest dog ever. He never has to stay home alone; he goes on hikes, backpacking trips, runs mountain bike trails, goes swimming, helps in the garden, and most of all, gives lots of snuggles and love to his mom and dad. He even gets to see Sally and has a special voice just for her. I think maybe he wants her to know how grateful he is that she found him the perfect home.
